Maldives’ Hydrography Work will be Carried Out by Maldives Defence Force: President

The President, who is on a visit to Kolhumadulu, visited Veymandoo and met the people of the village.
In a speech, he said that the work of providing the technical equipment needed to map and scan the depth of the sea has started for the Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF). The Ministry of Finance has already allocated the budget for the Defence Forces.
The Hydrography Agreement between India and Maldives was signed before President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu came to power and he has decided not to renew it.
The President said he is working to give the MNDF the ability to manage the sea and airspace of the country. He said the people of the country should guard the territorial boundaries of the country.
The President said that foreigners should not be relied on for the management of the Exclusive Economic Zone.
