Prosecutor General Shameem Attacked on the Street

Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem has been attacked on the street today.

Police said a case of assault was reported early today. Some media reported that he was attacked with a sharp object, but police did not confirm this. Shameem is currently being treated at ADK Hospital for his injuries sustained in the attack, police said.

An official of the hospital, who asked not to be named, told Dhiyares that Shameem was attacked with a weapon. His forearm was injured in the attack.

"He had a minor injury to his forearm. He is in good condition, no serious injuries," he said.

Shameem was attacked near the Noor Mosque in Henveiru. It is not known who attacked him or why. Police are currently investigating the attack on the prosecutor.
