An Indian man has been arrested in connection with street violence.
Nivin Raja, 27 years old, was arrested in connection with the case.
The Criminal Court yesterday remanded him in custody for 10 days as he could endanger the safety of the community if released without arrest.
According to the court order, he is living in Maldives in violation of immigration laws.
There are many illegal immigrants and criminals in Maldives, which includes Indians, among other nationalities. Most people in India are usually arrested for alcohol, drugs and fighting.
