A travel ban has been imposed on four individuals, including former State Minister for Housing Akram Kamaluddin, amid allegations of corruption in the Binveriyaa Scheme.
Passports of Akram Kamaluddin and three other officials from the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development—Senior Executive Director Mohamed Arif and former Directors General Ahmed Vishal Naseem and Lirugam Waheed—have been seized as part of an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) investigation.
The investigation centers on the alleged allocation of land to individuals not listed as recipients under the scheme.
Previously, the court withheld the passports of 20 individuals linked to the scandal, including Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and his brother, Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, Deputy Managing Director of MWSC.
