MP Rozeina Adam (Meedhoo) has expressed her concern about the “India Out” movement which calls for the expulsion of Indian military personnel from the Maldives.
On an appearance on RaajjeTV, a private cable channel with a pro-Indian and pro-government bias, MP Adam said that the “India Out” slogan had been adopted “because there was nothing else to say”.
“Everything is going well under this government”, she said.
That previously unprofitable public corporations have stopped embezzling funds have resulted in those companies making a profit every year, she had said.
It is worth noting that MP Adam’s comments do not reflect reality.
MP Adam said that there was a difference between political interests and national interests, and she said that national interests should not be compromised to serve a political agenda.
While praising the Solih administration, MP Adam said that creating dissent between countries would not be good for the Maldives.
MP Rozeina Adam has previously spoken out in defence of India’s interests. Notably, MP Adam had requested the Media Council to take action against Dhiyares; the sister-newspaper of The Maldives Journal; for its articles regarding India’s growing influence in the Maldives.
