100 Kg of Heroin Seized in Police Operation

100 kilograms have been seized in the Maldives following a police operation.

In a tweet published by Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed,the 24-hour operation was jointly-run by officers from the Drug Enforcement Department, Drug Intelligence. Marine Police and Forensics. He mentioned that 10 locations had been searched, and 10 people had been arrested.

The police did not comment any further on the operation; this has been the largest seizure of heroin in the Maldives in recent history. It is estimated that the seized heroin could be worth several million Rufiyaa on the street.
