Mohamed Waheed (Wadde) Ungoofaaru Constituency Member stated that the Fisheries Minister and Vice President of jumuhuree Party (JP) Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan has been influencing the National Elections of MDP parliament.
In a tweet, Wadde had said that it is concerning that Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan is pressuring to take the names of those who are competing in the MDP National Elections. He further said that JP is trying to exert its dirty tricks to destroy the MDP democratic system.
While there is much excitement with the upcoming MDP inside elections the members that are taking part belong to a faction of those who support President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and a faction that support former President and Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed. However, those that support Nasheed have been accusing that many ministers of the government have been trying to influence them.
News has been circulating that with the upcoming election the government has been hiring new staff to different authorities. However, the government denied any involvement.
