Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been assigned to construct the airport in Alifushi, Raa Atoll.
The agreement was signed today at the Ministry of Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure. The Planning Ministry’s Director-General Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed the contract on behalf of the ministry. MTCC’s CEO Adam Azim signed the contract on the company’s behalf.
The Alifushi airport project, worth MVR 451,615,528.48, is to be completed in 750 days.
Ali Azim stated that the Alifushi airport will be completed within the given duration and that the company will support the government’s efforts to develop the Maldives.
Transport Minister Aishath Nahula has also claimed that airports are to be constructed in Bilehfahi, Shaviyani Atoll, Muli, Meemu Atoll, and Thulhaadhoo, Baa Atoll within this year.
