Umar Seeking Attention, No Deals Made by Pres. Yameen: Saeed

Vice President of People’s National Congress (PNC) and parliament representative for Maavashu constituency Mohamed Saeed has claimed that former Home Minister Umar Naseer is attempting to garner political attention and that there are no deals to be made between Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed and former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Saeed, who served as Economic Minister during President Yameen’s administration, informed Dhiyares that President Yameen is the people’s leader, willing to sacrifice himself for the nation and that there are no deals to be made with former President Nasheed or Maldives Democratic Party (MDP).
According to Saeed, the Progressive Congress Coalition has always prioritized the Maldives, nationality, and independence. Under President Yameen’s leadership, the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) will always stand for the nation and Islam, he said.
He justified that President Yameen’s beliefs are extremely different from President Nasheed’s, and there are no deals to be made with MDP.
Umar has stated that President Yameen made a deal with President Nasheed to escape a prison sentence. Umar then claimed that President Yameen will not be making future deals, as such deals may end his political career.
MP Saeed responded that President Yameen is innocent and that no deals are required in exchange for his freedom. He reiterated that President Yameen is the only leader who has and will establish the nation and give power to the people, and that all other political figures mingle in one basket.
Saeed falsified Umar’s claim of a deal and labeled it as an attempt to create hate for Yameen and PPM.
He noted that numerous members of the public have expressed their love and support for the former president and his party. As per MP Saeed, other leaders find his success difficult to accept and make false claims to create hate.
