PG Shameem Reveals State's Leniencies for May 6 Culprit Adhuham

Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem has revealed the state's leniency for Adhuham, a perpetrator of the May 6 assasination attempt on former President Mohamed Nasheed.
During a press conference today, PG Shameem revealed that Adhuham and the state signed a plea agreement on Monday. The deal exempts Adhuham from facing terrorism charges.
However, he will be charged with being involved in an act of terrorism and supporting a terrorist organization. Involvement in an act of terrorism carries a sentence of 20 years. Supporting a terrorist organization carries a prison sentence of three years. Therefore, Adhuham will serve a 23-year sentence.
According to PG Shameem, the other suspects have also been propositioned plea deals.
