State contracting company Maldives Transport and Construction Company (MTCC) has earned an income of MVR 432 million in the second quarter of 2021.
Compared to the first quarter, income for the second quarter has increased. Profit has also increased, with MVR 63 million remaining as profit after tax and other deductions.
This is an increase of MVR 1.36 million from the first quarter's profit and more than the profit earned in the second quarter of the past three years.
MTCC is currently conducting 86 projects across the country. The company completed two projects, began practical work for 10 new projects during the second quarter. The company was also assigned nine additional projects.
Projects completed during the second quarter were the port on Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaal Atoll, and the renovation of the Meedhoo harbor.
The company conducting numerous infrastructural development projects for the government generated a significant profit the previous year and earned a record increase in income. It is estimated that the company's income and profit will increase this year as well.
