Parliament representative for Naifaru constituency Ahmed Shiyam declared that harmful agreements signed by the current government will be abolished once the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) wins the 2023 presidential elections.
During a Clubhouse meeting conducted by Sangu TV, Shiyam claimed he was confident PPM will succeed in the 2023 elections, considering the current state of the nation.
He claimed that the current administration has impoverished citizens and that the public wishes to revive former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom's tenure.
MP Shiyam stated that the government has made several agreements, paying no heed to the safety of the people. He claimed that PPM would change the agreements, and terminate the potentially dangerous agreements.
The lawmaker accused the government of sacrificing Addu City, Hanimaadhoo, and Male' City in the name of strengthening foreign security policies.
He declared that the government has brought the Maldives down to its knees, and is incapable of lifting the economy back up on its feet.
PPM is the only party that works alongside the public, and understands the feelings of the people, said Shiyam.
