7 Suspects of May 6 Attack in Police Custody

Maldives Police Service revealed that two of the three suspects of extremist beliefs released by the Criminal Court were re-arrested on suspicion of being involved in the May 6 assassination attempt on former President and incumbent Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed.
Police declared that the three released by Criminal Court on Wednesday were apprehended during an operation against extremism after the attack on former President Nasheed and that there are currently seven suspects in custody. Although the investigation implied the three were connected to the incident, one was released and two were apprehended on new suspicion.
