The case against the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof in relation to the MMPRC scandal was revised and re-sent to the Prosecutor General's Office.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) previously requested the Office to press charges against Mahloof twice. Both times, the PGO informed the commission to rectify administrative issues in their case.
The commission confirmed that they responded to the PGO's letter, but provided no further details. However, they assured that they would rectify the issues identified by the Office.
Amidst accusations of his involvement in the corruption, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih suspended Minister Mahloof for the second time.
Mahloof claimed he was being used as a political scapegoat in relation to the MMPRC corruption. He also made serious accusations against the President of ACC Mariyam Shiuna.
Mahloof speculated that ACC was acting against him personally.
