Criminal Court has ordered to remand two men who were arrested in relation to the attempted rape and kidnapping incident last night.
The court ordered to remand those two men in a police custodial jail for 5 days to investigate the matter. The judge noted that the police presented evidence to show that they were involved in the crime and that they should be remanded for the overall safety of society.
According to witnesses, the two suspects snatched a girl from a street of Male', took her into a nearby home, and raped her. The two suspects, who are both Maldivian nations are 18 and 23 years old.
Both the suspects have prior criminal records.
