A 30-year-old man, identified as Amar Pratap, has been arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl, police reported on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Monday when the child was playing outside her home. According to law enforcement, the accused lured the girl away, brought her to his residence, and committed the crime.
The victim informed her family upon returning home, prompting them to immediately report the matter to the authorities, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Namrata Srivastava.
Following the family’s complaint, a case was promptly registered, and Pratap was taken into custody. The police have confirmed that further investigation into the case is underway, ASP Srivastava added.
