Chargé d'Affairs ad interim Yu Xueyong of the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives has congratulated Mayor-elect of Male' City Council Dr.Mohammed Mizzu.
Chinese Embassy in the Maldives stated that Yu Xueyong called Dr.Muizzu and congratulated him and that both sides expressed willingness to enhance friendship and cooperation.
During Dr. Muizzu’s tenure as Housing Minister, he has partaken in numerous joint initiatives with the Chinese Government including the SinaMale’ Bridge and the 7000 social housing flats.
Dr. Muizzu won this Mayoral Election by over 12,000 votes and the MDP candidate Anas Abdul Sattar had gotten 7000 votes.
