Will Maintain Trust Shown in Results: Dr. Muizzu

Male City Council Mayor-Elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that he would maintain the trust that the public has put in him.

Dr. Muizzu stated that he will actively work towards the betterment of Male City while producing results and thanked the public for the trust they put in him during this vote. He further said that he will remain faithful to his voters.

Dr. Muizzu succeeded over MDP candidate Anas Abdul Sattar with a landslide victory from Male’ City and Opposition had won the majority of Male’ City Council seats.

This is the first time in history that Maldivian Democratic Party has lost its majority in Male during a City Council Election.
