Addu and Fuvahmulah Experience Extreme Weather Related Damage

Addu and Fuvahmulak have experienced many damages to their structures due to the bad weather conditions all around Maldives today.
Most of Fuvahmulak has been flooded and the trees and greenery have acquired significant damage such as being uprooted by the wind.
As reported to Vaguthu News, a Fuvahhmulak City Council official has stated that with the storm that came around 02:30 AM last night, it had rained heavily into Fuvahmulak and the city has been experiencing flooding into houses excessively and agricultural land has been damaged as well. Defense forces, Police, and the Council have been assisting citizens in a joint manner, further stated the media official.
Most of Fuvahmulak schools have also been closed due to the damage acquired from today’s storm.
Due to this rain, Addu has also reported consistent damage throughout the island. Roofs have flown off households and trees have also uprooted and flown off in the wind.
Addu City Mayor Abdulla Sodiq has stated that 11 households’ roofs have been torn off by the wind and that some personal belongings were damaged as well. The roof of a shop had also flown off destroying all the goods inside. Two households in Feydhoo had also had their roofs torn off as well.
Most Atolls in the West took the toll of this weather including Gaaf Alif and Gaaf Dhaal.
Meteorological Center of Maldives has released a yellow alert regarding today’s weather conditions and released a statement saying weather conditions will remain extreme throughout the day.
