Extreme Weather Delays Flights

Due to extreme wind and weather conditions, the landing of many flights to Velana International Airport have been delayed or diverted.

According to the data displayed on Flight Radar Website, many flights have either rerouted or flown around above VIA due to not being cleared to land, and some flights rerouted to neighboring India or Sri Lanka.

Maldives Meteorological Center has stated that the weather conditions all over the Maldives will be this way and most of Maldives will experience thundering and lightning.
