Applications Open for 2027 Arutha Programme

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness has opened applications for the 2027 Arutha Programme, a government-funded initiative aimed at developing talented athletes by providing professional training and experience in the sports sector.
According to the ministry, athletes interested in participating in the 2027 programme must submit a completed application form along with the required supporting documents by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Athletes will be selected based on the criteria outlined in the Arutha regulations, with applications evaluated by a committee appointed specifically for the programme.
The application form and regulations governing the programme are available on the ministry's official website. Completed applications can be submitted to the ministry's counter or via email at [[email protected]].
The Arutha Programme is intended to provide athletes with professional training and experience to help develop skilled and high-performing athletes. The government has previously expanded the programme to support athletes with advanced training opportunities and other related expenses.
