Government data exchange platform to be completed by end of year: Ihsan

Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihsan has said the government’s new data exchange platform, which will allow state institutions to exchange information and verify documents digitally, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Speaking at the Addu Business Dialogue held in Addu City, Minister Ihsan said the system will enable government agencies to communicate directly with each other and verify documents electronically, reducing the need for individuals to repeatedly submit physical documents issued by other institutions.
He explained that certificates, licences and other official documents issued by one government agency would be accessible to other agencies through the platform, allowing information to be exchanged automatically at system level.
Minister Ihsan also shared updates on Maldives 2.0, the government’s national digital transformation initiative launched under the vision of President Mohamed Muizzu. The initiative aims to modernise public services and establish a fully digital governance system in the Maldives.
He said the government is targeting June 2028 to complete the wider digitalisation process and assured that all government services are expected to become fully paperless by then.
