Lieutenant General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, the newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to the Russian Federation, has presented his Letters of Credence to Russian President Vladimir Putin in a formal ceremony held on Thursday at the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
During the presentation, Ambassador Abdul Raheem conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to President Putin, as well as to the government and people of the Russian Federation.
Ambassador Abdul Raheem currently serves as the Ambassador of the Maldives to Türkiye and will hold the position of Non-Resident Ambassador to the Russian Federation concurrently, with his residence based in Ankara.
The ceremony marks a significant step in strengthening diplomatic ties between the Maldives and the Russian Federation, reflecting the growing bilateral relations between the two nations.
