Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced the availability of 16 new chemical storage units for rent in Thilafushi, developed as part of two newly completed warehouse facilities.
According to HDC’s statement on Wednesday, the warehouses come in various sizes:
- 3 units over 1,000 sq ft
- 10 units over 990 sq ft
- 1 unit over 600 sq ft
- 1 unit over 400 sq ft
- 1 unit over 280 sq ft
The storage facilities are equipped with fireproof partitioning, fire suppression systems, CCTV surveillance, designated security rooms, and systems designed to contain chemical spills—meeting all key safety standards.
HDC will lease the warehouses for a 5-year term. Interested parties must submit a MVR 5,000 bid security. The deadline to submit bids is 2:00 PM on August 20.
As per Defense Ministry figures, Male' City had 144 chemical storage sites and 62 chemical retail shops last year, underscoring the growing need for safer, regulated chemical storage solutions.
