President Xi Congratulated President Muizzu on Maldives’ 60th Independence Anniversary

On July 26, H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, sent a congratulatory message to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on the occasion of the Maldives’ 60th anniversary of independence.
In his message, President Xi extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to the government and people of the Maldives on behalf of the Chinese government and people. He highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between China and the Maldives since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1972.
President Xi underscored the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, praising it as a model of equal treatment, mutual assistance, and benefit between countries of different sizes.
He also referenced President Muizzu’s successful state visit to China in January 2024, emphasizing the broad consensus reached and expressing his commitment to further promoting the China-Maldives comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a shared future.
And also, H.E. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent a congratulatory message to Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel.
