The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has clarified that flat agreement signings under the Gedhoruveriya scheme will not involve phone calls or SMS notifications. Instead, recipients will be informed exclusively through the "Gedhoruveringe Portal."
In a statement released today, the Ministry confirmed it has begun sharing the list of flat recipients with Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) to facilitate the signing of agreements and the handover of flats. Priority will be given to towers that have completed construction and are ready for occupancy.
The Ministry emphasized that FDC will oversee all transactions related to the agreement signing process. Recipients will receive notifications directly on the portal, and neither the Ministry nor FDC will reach out to individuals who have not received official portal notifications.
A special appeal was also made to the public to remain vigilant and avoid responding to unsolicited phone calls or SMS messages regarding the scheme. This measure aims to prevent scams or misinformation during the handover process.
The Gedhoruveriya scheme, a key housing initiative, has faced public scrutiny over eligibility and delays, prompting the Ministry to tighten its communication protocols.
