Bangladeshi Man Rescued After Being Held Hostage in Malé Residence

Maldives Police Service has confirmed the rescue of a Bangladeshi man who was reportedly held hostage in a residence in Malé City.
According to police, the incident was reported around 6:00 AM this morning. Officers responded promptly, forcibly entering the premises by breaking the lock to rescue the individual.
The victim, a Bangladeshi national, was immediately transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for medical evaluation. Authorities have stated that the man did not appear to have any visible external injuries, though his condition continues to be monitored.
Police have launched a criminal investigation into the matter to determine the circumstances surrounding the captivity and identify those responsible.
