President Muizzu Extends Greetings to Japan on National Day

His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm greetings to His Majesty Naruhito, Emperor of Japan, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, the Government, and the people of Japan on the occasion of Japan’s National Day.

In his letters to the Emperor and Prime Minister, President Muizzu highlighted the long-standing friendship between the Maldives and Japan, built on mutual respect, trust, and shared values. He expressed gratitude for Japan’s continued contributions to the development of the Maldives across various sectors and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

The President also extended his best wishes for the good health and well-being of the Emperor and Prime Minister, along with wishes for the continued prosperity of the Japanese people.

Japan’s National Day, observed on February 23, marks the birthday of the reigning Emperor, His Majesty Naruhito.
