Foreign Minister Khaleel Meets Sri Lankan Prime Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullah Khaleel met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya today during his official visit to Sri Lanka. The courtesy call marked a significant step in reaffirming the strong diplomatic relations between the two nations.
During the meeting, Minister Khaleel extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Amarasuriya on her victory in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections. He conveyed best wishes on behalf of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the Maldivian people, emphasizing the Maldives' commitment to further strengthening ties with Sri Lanka.
The discussions highlighted Sri Lanka's continued support for the Maldives' development efforts, with Minister Khaleel expressing appreciation for the longstanding cooperation between the two countries. Prime Minister Amarasuriya reiterated her government's dedication to enhancing collaboration across various sectors to foster mutual progress.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking Maldivian officials, including Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya, Maldives High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Masood Imad, Additional Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Aminath Abdullah Didi, Deputy High Commissioner Fathimath Gina, and Second Secretary Aminath Wardha.
