Education Ministry Opens School Transfer Applications for 2025 Academic Year

The Ministry of Education has announced that students relocating between islands can now apply for school transfers for the upcoming 2025 academic year.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to completing student admissions well ahead of the new academic year. Students wishing to transfer to a school on another island must submit their applications by March 06, 2025, to ensure enrollment before classes begin. The admission process is expected to be completed by March 15, 2025.

This timeline has been set as the 2025 academic year will begin after the last ten days of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr holidays. The Ministry clarified that students must obtain a "Student Transfer Request Form" from their current school and submit it to their desired school, after which the form must be returned to their current school for processing.

The deadline for submitting transfer requests is 2:00 PM on March 06, 2025. The Ministry has also confirmed that inter-island transfers will not be processed for the remainder of the 2024 academic year, as schools are focused on examinations, assessments, and report card preparation.

This initiative aims to ensure a smooth transition for students relocating between islands, allowing them to secure placements before the academic year begins.
