The Bank of Maldives (BML) has revealed the recipients of its prestigious 2024 Scholarship Fund. This year’s scholars—Reesham Mohamed, Noorhaan Mohamed Moosa, and Aishath Shara Naseer—will pursue undergraduate degrees in banking and finance-related fields at some of the top 200 universities worldwide.
The BML Scholarship Fund is a fully funded, merit-based programme designed to support promising Maldivian students. It covers tuition fees, a monthly stipend, visa costs, book and establishment allowances, and air travel.
Launched in 2022, the programme selects three students annually, with six students already studying abroad under the initiative.
Eligibility criteria for the scholarship include Maldivian citizenship, an age range of 18 to 25, and completion of A-levels with passes in all subjects. Applicants must enroll in banking and finance programmes at universities ranked among the top 200 in the Times Higher Education University Rankings. The programme also requires that applicants not be recipients of any other scholarships during their studies.
BML’s commitment to fostering the development of skilled professionals in the banking and finance sector is reflected in the comprehensive support offered through this scholarship.
