Maldives Ambassador Presents Credentials to President Xi Jinping in Beijing

His Excellency Dr. Fazeel Najeeb, the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the People’s Republic of China, formally presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of China, at a special ceremony held today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Fazeel conveyed heartfelt greetings and best wishes from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the people of Maldives to President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people. President Xi warmly welcomed the ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment, reaffirming the strong and enduring ties between the two nations.

Ambassador Fazeel was accompanied by his spouse, Ms. Aminath Fareesha, during the proceedings. This marks a continuation of the longstanding diplomatic relationship established between the Maldives and China on October 14, 1972. Ambassador Fazeel is the fifth Maldivian envoy to serve in this distinguished role.
