Expatriates Detained for Protesting in Malé's Green Zone

Expatriates who protested in the Green Zone have been taken into custody by Maldives Immigration.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the expatriates were protesting claiming they had not received their salaries.
Police have pushed back the protesting expatriates from the Mulee'aage area within the Green Zone to Majeedhiyya School. After they continued to protest, they were taken into the custody of Immigration.
Police informed the media that 38 Indians and 17 Bangladeshis were taken into Immigration custody.
