The Commissioner of Police has decided to disclose to the media the progress of investigations into complaints against the police.
Speaking on a PSM program, Shuja explained that under previous regulations, the investigation details regarding cases involving the police were not shared with the media. However, this rule has now been changed, and such information will be made available to the public in the future.
Shuja highlighted the significant efforts being made to ensure that the police force is free from undue influence and corruption. He also mentioned that regular actions are being taken against officers who act outside the rules.
So far this year, 50 police officers have been arrested, and 20 have been dismissed in connection with various cases.
