The Independent Institutions Committee of Parliament has approved the removal of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Vice-President Abdul Salam and Member Thoha Mohammed from their posts, the two of them have resigned from their posts after the committee approved the removal.
The committee approved the removal of three EC members along with Salam and Thoha at a secret meeting held yesterday.
"The Maldives journal" confirmed that the resignation letter was submitted to the President's Office this morning in writing and via email.
The committee report was heard in the floor today and the committee chairman Hussain Riza said that many illegal acts have been committed during the study of the case of the two members.

Thoha is accused of appealing against the Employment Tribunal's decision in the High Court against an employee dismissed by the ACC and dismissed the appeal by his influence and paid compensated with more than MVR 2 lakh against the advice of the commission's legal team
Both Salam and Thoha have committed many illegal acts in their own interests, the committee report said.
