Minister of Housing, Land, and Urban Development, Ali Haidar, has announced that the new land use plan for Gulhifalhu aims to significantly enhance living standards for residents. In an interview with PSM News, he emphasized that the plan prioritizes social, economic, and recreational needs, ensuring a balanced environment for all beneficiaries.
The minister stated that a total of 3,520 plots of varying sizes have been allocated from Gulhifalhu under the ongoing lottery for land distribution. He reassured that the allocation process is being conducted fairly, without any external influence, and beneficiaries will receive their land plots officially registered within the next few months.
Minister Haidar explained that the previous land use plan was inadequate, lacking essential features such as a stipulated distance of 100 feet between industrial and residential zones, and proximity to public services. In contrast, the current plan has been meticulously designed to create a comfortable and sustainable living environment.
Increased Green Spaces: 21% of the land will be designated for parks and green areas, enhancing recreational opportunities for residents.
Proximity to Amenities: Residential areas, schools, and mosques are designed to be within a 10-minute walking distance, promoting accessibility and community engagement.
Parking Facilities: The plan allocates 70,000 parking spaces to accommodate residents' vehicles, ensuring convenience and reducing congestion.
Minister Haidar noted that these improvements are part of a broader commitment by the government to develop Gulhifalhu into a vibrant and livable community. Detailed information regarding the land use plan and allocated areas will be made available on the shelter portal for residents' reference.
