Retired Scientist and Wife Held Hostage, Robbed of 20 Million Rupee in Delhi, India Home Invasion

A retired scientist and his wife were held hostage at gunpoint and robbed of cash and jewelry worth approximately 20 million Rupee in their home in Rohini's Prashant Vihar area on Friday afternoon, police reported.
The incident occurred in F Block, where Shibu Singh, a retired scientist, and his wife Nirmala live. Two men posing as courier workers gained entry into their home and held the elderly couple at gunpoint. When Singh resisted, he was physically assaulted.
The robbers escaped with around ₹20 million worth of cash and jewelry. Singh alerted his son, who lives separately, and a police report was filed at 2:30 PM.
A police team responded swiftly, gathering evidence from the scene. Both Shibu and Nirmala were taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. Six police teams have been mobilized to track down the suspects, with CCTV footage under review.
Authorities suspect insider involvement due to the methodical nature of the robbery. Neighbors and family members have been questioned as the investigation progresses.
