Minister Faisal Attends Welcome India Roadshow to Boost Maldivian Tourism

Maldivian Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has embarked on a mission to promote Maldivian tourism in India by attending the Welcome India Roadshow 2024. The event, running from July 30 to August 3, is a strategic initiative to market the Maldives as a prime destination for Indian tourists.
Minister Faisal arrived in India on last Monday to participate in the roadshow, which is jointly organized by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), and the National Hotel and Guest House Association. The roadshow will be held in three major Indian cities: Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
The primary objective of the roadshow is to increase the number of Indian tourists visiting the Maldives. As of July 28, 71,012 Indian tourists had visited the Maldives, underscoring the significance of India as a key tourism partner.
In addition to promoting tourism, the Maldivian delegation will engage with relevant Indian authorities to discuss increasing the number of airlines operating flights to the Maldives. This move is expected to enhance connectivity and make travel to the Maldives more accessible for Indian tourists.
The roadshow is a collaborative effort involving MMPRC, MATATO, and the National Hotel and Guest House Association, all working together to showcase the Maldives' unique attractions and hospitality. By targeting three of India's major cities, the roadshow aims to reach a broad audience and highlight the Maldives as a premier travel destination.
