Maldives Holds Talks with World's Largest Bank in China

Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed has held discussions with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to seek assistance and cooperation for Maldives. ICBC is the largest bank in China and the world.

Minister Saeed, currently in China, met with senior executives of ICBC. In a post on X, Minister Saeed stated that the meeting was part of the President's efforts to implement the agreements reached during his visit to China and discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

ICBC has already provided loans for several projects in Maldives. One of the most notable projects is the 7,000 shelter flats project in Hulhumale', funded by an ICBC loan.

ICBC became the world's largest bank in 2013 and has maintained its position ever since. Since 2015, ICBC has also been recognized as the world’s largest public company by Forbes.
