According to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 903,775 tourists visited the Maldives as of Monday. This marks a notable increase compared to the 821,248 tourist arrivals recorded during the same period last year, reflecting a 10 percent rise.
China leads in tourist arrivals with 102,075 visitors, followed by Russia with 91,618 tourists. The United Kingdom ranks third, contributing 85,840 tourists to the Maldives. On average, 5,831 tourists have visited the Maldives each day this year.
The Maldivian government aims to attract 2 million tourists by the end of 2024 and is actively working towards this ambitious target.
