At the Global Security Forum in Doha, Qatar, Minister of Homeland Security Ali Ihsan from Maldives passionately called for an urgent cessation of Israel's brutal actions in Gaza. Despite the physical distance between Maldives and Palestine, Minister Ihsan emphasized the shared empathy of Maldivians towards the plight of the Palestinian people. Speaking on behalf of his nation, he unequivocally demanded Israel to halt its ongoing atrocities in Palestine without delay.
Highlighting Maldives' unwavering commitment to peace and justice, Minister Ihsan underscored that the repercussions of Israel's inhumane actions extend beyond the Middle East, impacting the global community profoundly. Stressing the criticality of fostering stability in the region, he pointed out the adverse effects of the Middle East turmoil on the international economy, directly impacting Maldives and its citizens.
Meanwhile, at the International Criminal Court, prosecutors have initiated proceedings to obtain an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defence minister, citing their alleged involvement in the ongoing crisis.
Minister Ihsan's fervent plea for an immediate ceasefire highlights Maldives' stance on the issue and adds to the growing international calls for an end to the violence in Palestine.
