Flat List Will Be Reviewed By Independent Committee: President

The permanent list compiled under the previous government's housing scheme will be made public after a review by a committee formed by the government, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said.

The President was responding to a question from a member of the public at the ‘Aha’ Forum, which was open to the public to ask the President questions directly.

The President said the flat list issue is major, and involves many people, and the ACC had recently taken a decision and sent the list to the ministry. However, access to the portal containing the information has been restricted, so the information of those who applied for the flats and those who were declared ineligible cannot be viewed, he said.

The President said that instead of the employees within the ministry looking at the forms, a committee of good people, who are accepted and trusted in society, would be formed to review the ACC's decision.

The President added that this can also be done by creating access to the portal containing the information.
