The theme of the 14th APA is “Contributing to Asia's Sustainable Development.” The panel session will be attended by about 40 members of the legislatures of various Asian countries. About 10 of the speakers of Asian parliaments are participating in the session.
Various committees from Asia are also scheduled to participate in the APA. The APA Executive Council meeting will be held during the session. The assembly will be held from the 20th to the 24th of this month.
The Asian Parliamentary Assembly aims to establish peace in the Asian region. It was founded in September 1999 by Sheikh Hasina, the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh, as the Association of Asian Parliaments for Peace (AAPP). Countries are allocated seats based on their population size.
