The Chinese Ambassador to Maldives handed over the water and electricity plants to the Maldives government at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure today.
Construction Minister Dr. Abdullah Mutalib received the plants on behalf of the Government of Maldives.
These plants have been installed in R. Alifushi, Lh. Olhuvelifushi, H. Kelaa, G. Dhaandhoo and K. Kashidhoo as a result of the free assistance from the Chinese Government.
The plants will produce 200 tonnes of water per day, as well as 100 kW of electricity generated from wind turbines and a further 100 kW through solar panels installed on the plants.
