Greatest Investment in Youth in the History of Maldives by Current Government: Faisal

The government of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is investing the most in the youth compared to any other administration in the history of the country, Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has said.

Speaking at the launch of the Maldives Youth Hackathon, Minister Faisal said the government will make special efforts to empower the youth and that the work will be of a larger scale and more significant than any previous government.

The tourism industry will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this, he said. The Ministry of Tourism will also provide opportunities to those who want to develop themselves in various fields of the industry, he said.

There is a high hope that the tourism industry will make great strides by familiarizing young people with the expanding businesses through technology and providing opportunities for young people who want to pursue their careers in the field and promote the country, he said.

He said he would work with the Youth Ministry to provide opportunities for the youth in the field of tourism. He further stated that young people have the skills and abilities to move forward in the field of coding.

Highlighting the developments in the tourism sector, the Minister said he hoped to introduce a special application to promote tourism in Maldives very soon. The aim of the work with the Ministry and MMPRC is to attract 2.3 million tourists by 2024. The existing major markets such as China and India should be maintained, he said.
