Pakistan's High Commissioner to Maldives, Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani met with Maldives Defense Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon.
Admiral Muhammad Fayyaz and Minister Ghassan discussed ways to improve the long-standing close relations between the two countries. They also discussed enhancing collaborative efforts to improve the militaries of both countries.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Maldives Army and some officials of the Pakistan High Commission.
Since the establishment of political relations between Maldives and Pakistan on 26 July 1966, the two countries have maintained close relations in various fields. The Parliament building was built with the assistance of the Government of Pakistan.
