Illegal Immigrants’ Residences Raided

Maldives Immigration Service launched a special operation last month to identify illegal immigrants. Under the operation, foreigners' ID cards and visas will be checked to determine their status in the country.

Immigration said in a post on X today that the raids were conducted by the Joint Task Force.

Immigration has also released a video showing some scenes of the operation. However, no further details about the operation have been released.

Addressing the problem of illegal immigrants has been given special priority by the government of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, and recently Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihusaan said that strict rules have been formulated to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country.
