Maldives and Australia Discuss Strengthening Military Ties

Maldives and Australia have discussed further strengthening the defense ties between their respective militaries.

The discussions took place during a visit by the Indo-Pacific Endeavor 2023 Commander, Air Commodore Anthony McCormack, at the MNDF Headquarters yesterday.

Anthony McCormack and Vice Chief of Defense Force Brigadier General Ibrahim Hilmy discussed further strengthening defense ties between Maldives and the Australian military and assistance in strengthening the capacity of the MNDF in the defense sector.

The Indo-Pacific Endeavor 2023 delegation also held an interactive session with the officers of the MNDF during their visit to the MNDF Headquarters. Both parties shared their views and experiences during the session.

In addition, meetings with senior officers of the MNDF discussed areas where the Australian Military can assist in strengthening the capacity building of the MNDF.
