Parties registered with the Elections Commission and with enough members to receive money.
44 million MVR from the national budget has been allocated to political parties registered with the Election Commission that have reached 10,000 members as of the date of approval of this year's budget.
The total amount to be distributed to political parties this year is 44,099,905 MVR
Total amount for each other 6 parties:
- Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) - 15,101,580.43
- Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) - 10,491,054.20
- Jumhooree Party (JP) - 5,314,312.83
- People's National Congress (PNC) - 8,072,689.58
- Adhaalath Party (AP) - 2,547,533.69
- Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) - 4,477,734.28
The per capita amount allocated to parties this year is 289.62 MVR. However, the amount due to a party will be paid after deducting the amount of any penalties to the party.
Out of the 8.1 million MVR allocated to the PNC, 95,000 MVR has been deducted as a penalty. No other party has been ordered to pay a fine, according to the figures released by the Election Commission.
