A senior Chinese Communist Party leader arrives in Maldives on an official visit.
Sun Haiyan, Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, arrived in Maldives on an official visit today.
Haiyan arrived in Maldives at the invitation of Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer.
Haiyan arrived in Maldives today and will remain in the country until Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Foreign Ministry State Minister Sherina Abdul Samad welcomed Haiyan at the Velana International Airport (VIA).
The ministry added that the visit will be attended by the President. Haiyan will pay a courtesy call on President Dr. Muizzu and meet Parliament Speaker Mohamed Aslam and Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer.
In addition, she will also attend a donation ceremony organized by the A.Dh. Mahibadhoo Council.
